Getting Started with CarCheck

Start by entering your UK vehicle registration number in the license plate input field on the homepage. You can enter the registration with or without spaces (e.g., "AB12 CDE" or "AB12CDE").
2. Click "Check Vehicle"
After entering your registration number, click the "Check Vehicle" button. Our system will connect to the DVLA database to retrieve information about your vehicle. This typically takes just a few seconds.
3. View Vehicle Details
Once the information is retrieved, you will see comprehensive details about your vehicle, including:
- Make, model, and color
- Year of manufacture
- Engine size and fuel type
- MOT status and history
- Tax status and due date
- CO2 emissions

Is CarCheck free to use?
Yes, CarCheck is completely free to use for basic vehicle information. We provide essential details about any UK-registered vehicle without any charges or subscription fees.
Where does CarCheck get its data from?
CarCheck retrieves data directly from the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) database, ensuring that all information is official, accurate, and up-to-date.
Why cant I find my vehicle?
There could be several reasons:
- The registration number may have been entered incorrectly
- The vehicle might be very new and not yet in the DVLA database
- The vehicle might have a personalized plate that requires special formatting
- There might be a temporary issue with the DVLA connection

Is my search history saved?
CarCheck does not save your search history or the registration numbers you look up. We prioritize your privacy and do not track individual vehicle searches beyond whats necessary to provide the service.
Can I check vehicles registered outside the UK?
Currently, CarCheck only supports vehicles registered in the United Kingdom. We cannot provide information for vehicles registered in other countries.
